USTRIVE
Understanding STEM Teaching Through Integrated Context in Everyday Life (USTRIVE)
USTRIVE is a Professional Development program for 6-12th grade STEM teachers funded by a $2.8 million grant from the National Science Foundation. The project is led by Arcadia University in partnership with Villanova University, Mercyhurst college, and the Philadelphia Regional Institute for STEM Educators (PRISE) at Saint Joseph’s University. The USTRIVE project seeks to foster STEM knowledge and literacy with students in grades 6 – 12 through the use of a socio-transformative constructivism framework (sTc) using a socio-scientific issues (SSI) approach. USTRIVE grew out of a smaller PRISE pilot project funded by NSF.
