Philadelphia Programs & Initiatives: The City of Philadelphia website has plenty of links to the many aid programs run in Philadelphia– anywhere from housing to intramural basketball leagues

STEM Ecosystem Database: The STEM ecosystem has on its website a map with many organizations and short blurbs regarding how they look to improve STEM education Equity.

STEM Ecosystem Resources: There are many useful organizations and links to STEM resources.

 

 

STEM and community newsletters 

PHENND: (Philadelphia Higher education Network for Neighborhood Development) PHENND  does a lot of work throughout Philadelphia to connect campuses to communities, their newsletter provides many different education related opportunities 

Franklin Institute: The Franklin Institute does a large amount of STEM programming through the city, they’re a very old organization with a science museum that can be found on the Parkway in Center City.

Science Center: The Science Center looks to invest in Philadelphia science, many opportunities for students and for training can be found on their newsletter

STEM Ecosystem: The STEM ecosystem is an offshoot of the Philadelphia Education Fund that looks to increase STEM education equity, joining their newsletter/organization provides large access to a broader network of organizations looking to improve STEM equity. 

After School Resources

PACTS (Partnership for Achieving Careers in Technology and Science): is a youth leadership experience run through the Franklin Institute designed to create pathways and connections for students to prepare for future involvement in STEM. 

Junior Stem Academy: Community College of Philadelphia now offers year-round programming for rising 6th through 8th grade students through our Jr. STEM Academy to get engaged in STEM. 

WINS (Women in Natural Sciences): Women In Natural Sciences (WINS) is a free after-school and summer science enrichment program at the Academy of Natural Sciences serving young women from underrepresented communities and households facing financial limitations within the Philadelphia School District.

Temple University K-12 Student Programs: Temple University offers a variety of after school experiences for children for all subjects.

 Philadelphia STEM Education Directory: is a free searchable map of a variety of opportunities in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) in the Greater Philadelphia Area.  

Students and Parents/Guardians: The directory can help you find out-of-school time STEM programs geared to students Pre-K through high school.

Teachers and Educators: Search the directory for available STEM professional development opportunities for K-12 classroom teachers and informal educators.
